Watercress and Winterbournes Education Officer (part-time 0.6FTE fixed-term until March 2025)

Working at Wessex Rivers Trust you will be part of the new team delivering the exciting Watercress and Winterbournes Landscape Partnership Scheme from now until end March 2025. This National Lottery Heritage Funded post will lead the delivery of education programmes for schools and home education groups, inspiring interest in chalk stream ecology and heritage in the headwaters of Hampshire’s iconic Rivers Test and Itchen. This will include adapting the Trust’s existing primary school programmes, such as ‘Mayfly in the Classroom’ and the ‘Story of Chalk Streams’ and developing new programmes for older students focused on the wider cultural and industrial heritage of chalk streams. The role will also include the delivery of a programme of activities focused on chalk stream heritage for uniformed groups and other young people-focused (voluntary) organisations in the W&W area.

This post will be split between the Wessex Rivers Trust office near Salisbury and the anticipated Watercress and Winterbournes office near Winchester, with some home working expected. Travel throughout the Watercress and Winterbournes area will be required.
