Project Officer

Location Carshalton, London
Salary £26,000 - £30,000
Closes August 29, 2019

SERT is seeking a Project Officer who will help develop and deliver a programme of river restoration and habitat enhancement projects across the SERT area. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing expert team and contribute to our portfolio of ambitious and bold projects based on sound science and best practice.

With support from senior staff, you will use your growing experience to lead on projects throughout all stages including conception, development, design, delivery and monitoring. You will work closely to support the Catchment Team with identifying projects that address priority issues for catchments and facilitate project development and design in collaboration with landowners, stakeholders and other key parties. The role will suit a well organised, practical and skilled individual who is keen to build their experience and knowledge working developing and delivering river restoration projects.

River enhancement projects will typically include weir removals, fish passage easements (such as rock ramps, nature-like bypasses or technical fish passes) and river re-naturalisation projects (such as habitat enhancements, reconnecting floodplains & palaeochannels, re-meandering, and backwater creation). Catchment management projects are likely to include wetland creation, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures. We would be interested to know about any experience you have in the above fields when you apply.

We are also recruiting Assistant Project Officer and Senior Project Officer positions to the Delivery Team.

Applications are due 30th August, with interviews taking place 10th and 11th September.
