Fundraiser (Contract) – Dales to Vale Rivers Network
The Dales to Vale Rivers Network (DVRN), are looking for a professional fundraiser to work with the partnership on a contract basis for circa 20 days between March – November 2021 initially, with potential to extend the contract if successful.
DVRN is the Catchment Partnership for the Swale, Ure, Nidd, Ouse and Wharfe river systems, bringing together a wide range of stakeholder organisations to deliver our vision of Heathy Rivers, Abundant Wildlife, Valued by Communities.
As part of a wider resilience project, the fundraiser will help the catchment partnership officers to establish a sustainable funding strategy for the DVRN and to attract funding for both core partnership activities and “on the ground” projects from a diverse range of sources.
We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional, preferably with a background or knowledge of the environmental sector in the UK, and more locally in Yorkshire. They need to have a proven track record of fundraising for core funding from trusts and foundations, local and regional funders, and be able to bring together a wide range of people and organisations with the potential of working together and to find funding to achieve joint outcomes.
The fundraiser will help set up and chair a new Fundraising Group, linked to the DVRN Board. This group will identify funding strategies for individual projects and wider catchment activities/initiatives. The fundraiser must be able to successfully lead and facilitate groups to prioritise and deliver action. It is envisaged that they will mentor and support the Catchment Partnership Officers to develop our overall funding network and strategy to make the partnership more sustainable.
This opportunity is funded by the Environment Agency up to November 2021. The aim is that by the end October 2021 the partnership will have started to build a sustainable funding base, which allows a full range of partnership activities to continue into future years, including the role of the fundraiser.
Tasks that the fundraiser is expected to play a key role in include:
- Investigating funding sources and developing a fundraising plan for the Catchment Partnership
- Supporting the development of projects, project mandates and funding bids
- Making links and networking with potential funders
- Chairing and facilitating the Fundraising Group
- Mentoring and supporting the Catchment Partnership Officers
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a quote by 10th March 2020 to express your interest in this contract. Your quote should provide details of relevant experience and expertise (via a CV if appropriate), and clearly indicate why you would be a good fit for this role/how you would help the DVRN to expand our funding base for both core funds and projects.
The first task, timeline permitting, will be to assist the funding group to draw up a list of potential funding sources, ideally by the end of March, therefore please indicate your potential availability to begin this work in March if successful.
