Farming Advisor – Wear Rivers Trust
Full time post. Permanent, subject to funding.
Salary: £25,000-£32,000 pa, plus contributory pension
The Wear Rivers Trust is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Farming Advisor whose primary role will be to work with farmers and landowners to promote and implement practical measures to promote and improve integrated soil, surface water and groundwater management which will jointly benefit farms, business and the environment.
You will develop effective relationships with farmers and landowners to jointly identify and develop schemes to reduce sources of pollution and protect surface and groundwater quality. You will offer advice on improvements in soil management in relation to arable, livestock and mixed farming operations.
In order to do this effectively, you will have appropriate professional and practical knowledge and experience to ensure effective communication with farmers as well those with non-farming perspectives.

Interviews will last in the region of 50 minutes and will include a 10 minute presentation, with short Q&A, on a relevant topic, to be advised to shortlisted candidates by Friday 5 March.
