Starting salary between £44,274 and £51,653 depending on experience

Job Summary

Job Location: Ilkeston, but involving travel across the Trent catchment

Salary and terms: Permanent, full time

Starting salary between £44,274 and £51,653 depending on experience

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Reporting to: The Chairman and the board of trustees

The Role

The Trent Rivers Trust is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to lead the organisation through an exciting period of expansion and development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the attributes of a highly credible senior executive with a passion for rivers and environmental improvement.

Purpose of the Post

  • To maintain and extend the Trust’s position as the leading organisation in the Trent catchment responsible for the delivery of positive action to protect and improve river environments for the benefit of people and wildlife
  • To identify and generate new sources of income to ensure the organisation is resilient to future external pressures and events
  • Be accountable for the efficient and innovative deployment of the Trust’s resources of equipment, finance and knowledge to deliver the business plan successfully
  • To work with the team to continually improve the operational performance of the charity.
  • Be accountable to the Finance Manager and Treasurer to ensure the necessary financial processes and controls are in place to support financial security, sustainability and compliance and to manage financial risk
  • Act as an effective interface between the Board of Trustees, staff and stakeholders
