Natural Flood Management Workshop

Natural Flood Management Workshop

Natural Flood Management Workshop

Penrith CA11 0AH, United Kingdom

We are producing three Natural Flood Management (NFM) opportunity maps, covering approximately 400km² each of the Cumbrian Flood Partnership catchments of the Kent, Derwent and Eden.

The first draft of these maps are now ready and we would like to refine the maps with knowledge and guidance from your organisation. If you are able to send representatives who have an interest in the delivery of NFM in these catchments, please ask them to book their free place via our Eventbrite page. Places are limited but we will try to accommodate as many contributors as possible.

The workshop will be split into two parts. In the morning we will explain how the maps have been generated and answer your questions about the strengths and weaknesses of this new component of the Evidence Base for the strategic delivery of NFM in these catchments.

n the afternoon you will be asked to annotate the maps with your comments and knowledge. After the workshop we will re-run the modelling, to generate collaborative NFM opportunity maps for each of the new Catchment Management Groups to use.

The opportunity maps are being developed by The Rivers Trust, JBA and The Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) based on well-established data, modelling and research.
