LEARNING FROM THE PAST TO INFORM THE FUTURE

This year the IFM celebrates it’s 50th anniversary and to celebrate this milestone we will be returning to Nottingham for our birthday conference. Nottingham was the location for our first conference in 1969 so it is quite fitting that we return in this special year

The conference will be hosted by the Midlands Branch and will held at the Nottingham Conference Centre on October 8th – 10th.

The theme for this year’s conference is Learning from the Past to Inform the Future

The branch has put together a fantastic programme of talks that incorporates sessions from the freshwater, transitional and marine environments. Conference sessions will cover a wide range of topics over the three days including

  • Technology – Tracking
  • Governance and Economics
  • Fish
  • Historical Perspectives
  • Rewilding
  • Fish and Fisheries Challenges
  • Technology – Monitoring
  • Environmental Challenges

The conference programme can be downloaded from the website

The Tuesday evening will see the branch hosting the poster evening and networking event. In a first for the annual conference this years event will be held on the water. Delegates will be taken by coach to the River Trent where they will board the Nottingham Princess for an evening cruise down river. Drinks and dinner will be served whilst we sail.

This event is included in the delegate fee

Posters will be on display in the clubhouse before we sail

The Wednesday evening will be the IFM Annual Dinner and Awards which will be held in the grand surroundings of the Nottingham Council House. This is an evening not to be missed.
