Join Ribble Rivers Trust as they continue to fence off a section of the River Hodder to exclude stock and create a buffer zone ready for tree planting this winter.

Directions: 0.4miles south of the bridge over the River Hodder in Newton OR 4.5 miles after passing The Higher Buck in Waddington turn West off the B6478 (53.942585, -2.4544425); lookout for a volunteer day sign and a shiny new galvanised gate into a field next to the turning. After 0.8 miles turn right onto a farm track just after passing two stone barns on your right. After travelling for 0.9 miles bear left at the crossroads. Continue for 0.3 miles until you reach the parking field on your right (54.944389, -2.4965130). The farm track is well maintained, however, if any volunteers would rather meet at our offices in Clitheroe for a lift to site please let them know.

Who? Anyone can come along and help us however, if you are under 18 please bring a responsible adult along.

What to bring? We ask that you bring outdoor clothing suitable for the expected weather. We suggest a waterproof coat and trousers and walking boots or wellies as well as sun cream and sunhats. We supply durable gloves but if you have a favourite pair bring those along too.

Please also make sure to bring lunch and plenty to drink, though we’ll supply you with brews and biscuits. All other tools and equipment will be supplied by us.
