Wet wipes from sewage spill in river

Have your say on the Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan

We’re disappointed by plans to reduce sewage pollution. If you feel the same, find out how you can get involved.

This week, we have called on politicians and the public to respond to the government's Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan, which we think does not go far enough, fast enough.

As part of the Wildlife and Countryside Link coalition, with Surfers Against Sewage, The Angling Trust, Wildlife Trusts, Friends of the Earth and the Marine Conservation Society, we issued a press release and a parliamentary briefing note to MPs. The briefing urges MPs to engage on Defra’s Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan, out for consultation until May 12th, and to press Defra to significantly strengthen its target measures and broaden their scope.

We strongly urge you to speak up for rivers and respond to the consultation - click below to read our full briefing and have your say.
