Trent Valley Way walking festival

Already established for 84 miles through Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, the Trent Valley Way is a long-distance footpath along the Trent Valley

Now, an ambition for the Trent Valley Way to become a fully way-marked source-to-sea walking route is being realised, and will be officially launched at the Trent Valley Way walking festival on 24th-25th September.

Along the way, walkers delve into the rich history of the Trent, as they meander through picturesque market towns, pockets of wilderness, and rolling countryside. Passing through six counties, the Trent Valley Way retraces the industry and heritage on the River Trent, visiting industrial-era towns including Stoke, Rugeley, Burton-upon Trent, Nottingham, Newark, Gainsborough and Scunthorpe. The lucky adventurer may catch a glimpse at the iconic wildlife including kingfishers, otters and herons along the way.
