OPPORTUNITIES - But there are situations where stocking may be beneficial or even the only solution:
PUT AND TAKE Still Water Fisheries - Where there are no significant wild populations, particularly in reservoirs and lakes, regular stocking can create and maintain a fishery. These "put and take" fisheries can offer anglers excellent opportunities, particularly where the food supply is abundant and stocked fish can grow to considerable size.
RESTORATION
STOCKING - Stocking may be the only solution available where stocks have
been eliminated by e.g. pollution (Taff), prolonged drought or barriers.
