Salmon may look similar but be very different. One may first enter the river in the early Spring and spawn in the upper reaches. The second enters the same river in the late Summer/early Autumn and spawns in the lower part of the system. Both the fish and their off spring have very different behaviour patterns which enable them to thrive in their specific local conditions. We must not damage the diversity of our native stocks. We have a responsibility to pass them on to future generations to enjoy. |
