Our natural rivers and ecosystems are under pressure from abstraction, pollution, urban development, intensive agriculture and climate change.
Our high population density, coupled with the increasing frequency of droughts, extreme rainfall and flooding, presents a real threat to our wildlife and the ability to provide for our own needs.
We are working hard to actively engage with planners, landowners, farmers and local communities to carry out practical environmental projects on the ground.
By supporting the rivers trust movement, you will be helping us protect, promote and enhance our river environments for both people and wildlife.
From river runs to sponsored swims, with your input, we can have a greater impact on protecting our river environments.
If you would like to fundraise for us, we would be delighted to hear from you and help you along the way.
Our local trusts are always in need of an extra pair of hands, from office support to river clean-ups and citizen science, there’s lots you can do to get stuck in.
Get in touch with your local trust or contact us and we can point you in the right direction.
As an environmental charity, donations are always gratefully received. Your donations will go to support our work in promoting and enhancing healthy river environments across England, Wales, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
